I have a sore throat- worst thing in the world.
Here’s what I did this past week:
Went to Uptown Mirdif on Friday with my sisters.
Crocheted a flower and went to a shop to buy some beads where I bought a bedazzler!!! I’ve always wanted one, I bedazzled my sister’s calculator, I’ll post the picture.
I went to Mirdif City Centre yesterday, It was great, a lot of new shops like pottery barn and crate and barrel and the best part is that they’re going to open Pinkberry!!! finally, now I don’t have to go all the way to Mall of the Emirates to have the delicious pomegranate yogurt with fresh strawberries on top. They also have Sugar Daddy, I bought some delicious overpriced cupcakes.
This week I also saw Dear John, Valentine’s Day and the Blind Side, liked all of them.
So we were going to go to Saudi Arabia for Omrah on Wednesday and it’s been foggy this past week so they kept delaying our flight and every other flight. Our flight was supposed to take off at 12:40 pm but when we checked in at 11:20 they said that it had been delayed till 1:30 and then we kept waiting and waiting and no one called our flight and they kept saying that some of the flights were delayed but no one mentioned ours and they said that they had no idea when it’s going to take off. It couldn’t be because of the fog cause it wasn’t that early in the morning and it wasn’t that foggy and none of the other airports changed they’re flight schedules. Anyway, we had lunch, shoped and just waited till 4:00, our flight number appeared again on the flight schedule screen so we went to the gate and sat there and waited cause they said that it’s supposed to take off at 4:30. By 5:30 we were still there and so were many other people and at that time I was so tired after waiting at the airport for 6 hours!! and I was thinking that we should just go home, I had no energy left in me to wait anymore and to go fo Omrah so my father asked if we should go cause there was no sign of when the plane is actually going to take off. So it took us an hour to get our luggage back and go back home. I guess we’re going to Omrah in the summer inshalla like every other summer and hopefully to somewhere in east Asia.
The day before we were suppposed to go to Omrah, I finished reading Great and Terrible Beauty. It was great, it has two sequels which I’m going to read after reading all three available sequels of Blue Bloods. My sister says that Kinokuniya in Dubai Mall makes home deliveries!!
I couldn’t sleep so I stayed awake this morning, I was awake in bed from 6:30 till 7:30, then I went to eat. No one was awake, there was no breakfast and the fridge had no milk, no juice, no eggs, no bread and no cheese so I sent the driver to the grocery store then ate breakfast, watched grey’s anatomy and now I’m downloading Private Practice. After I finish writing this post I’ll go watch the last 3 episodes of Cougar Town which I started to watch 2 days ago. After watching Grey’s Anatomy I decided to make some muffins with my nephews cause they like baking with me. I had a cake mix but it was in german so I translated the instruction online. I always regret baking with the boys cause they always always fight and then they said that they wanted to ice the muffins and I said it was okay cause the mix was for kids and while icing they kept crying and saying that the other had more muffins to ice and I kept yelling and saying that they’re only 12 and each of them had 6 and counted the muffins in front of them but still they kept fighting and the worst part was that one of them was coughing, a lot on the muffins and the other one sneezed a couple of times. I didn’t eat any ofcourse and besides the cake mix was for girls but my sister was studying that’s why I told them to help me, I have another mix I’ll make it with her after they leave. YAY!!!!! I went to the interview this morning, I was super nervous especially when I got lost on the way and was like 10 minutes late but when I got there one of the security guys showed me the way to the IT college. The interviewer was very nice, he went through the whole courses of the program and then he said that he would definitely admit me!!! I start in September, 3 courses every semester for 2 years and each course lasts 6 weeks, twice a week from 6 till 9 pm.I’m loving it. Can’t wait to start.
After that I went to the outlet mall since it was 2 minutes from the university and my mother wanted to go to a german store there.
I just got back and I’m tired, I’ll change, eat lunch, then I want to finish reading Great and Terrible Beauty, I only have a few chapters left cause I spent the night last night reading it, it’s amazing btw.
I’ll hopefully start reading Blue Bloods’ second book “Masquerade” tonight or tomorrow. I also have the third book and I borrowed the fourth one from my cousin. Great and Terrible Beauty has 2 sequels that I must read.
I’m in a contest with my sister to finish reading 100 books by the end of 2010. I’ll create a page on my blog later today to keep track of the books I read.

I was reading online about cyber security in preparation for my interview tomorrow and I found out that there’s going to be a Black Hat conference in AD!!!
Yes, I didn’t know what Black Hat was at first but I googled it and found out that it’s a conference held annually in Washington, Las Vegas, and Barcelona. This May AD will host its first, I think it’s cool. I wonder if it’s open to public.
Anyway, information security is a huge deal nowadays. Every organization in the world depend on technology in their work and it becomes easier everyday for these digital information to be invaded by hackers. I would really like it if I got accepted to study cyber security. My dream is to work at an information security organization like a aeCERT. Most of MIS graduates work at banks or places that have nothing to do with MIS. I won’t say no if I got a job anywhere but that is my dream job.
I’ve been busy the past couple of days doing nothing. I watched Supernatural Season 5, read some of Great and Terrible Beauty, watched my weekly shows, and nothing else.
My interview is in 3 days, I can’t wait til it’s over. I’m so nervous.
When I woke up today, I downloaded Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, and How I Met Your Mother. I watched Grey’s and HIMYM after breakfast and then I put on my ipod and played with makeup. I’ve never been a makeup girl, I’d buy make up but never use it and whenever I go to a party or a wedding, I usually get my makeup done by a professional. I’ve been watching makeup tutorials on youtube lately and thought I’d try it. I had fun.
I’ve learned a lot from youtube and I don’t think I can live without it anymore. I’ve learned to knit, crochet, bake, how to put make up on, french braid, fix stuff on my computer, and a lot of other things.
I also love to watch youtube channels just for fun like vlogvetica and the professionals show.
I am now on itunes looking for new country music by Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, and Keith Urban.

I finally went to dubai mall today to buy the “Blue Bloods” sequels, I found two: “Masquerade” and “Revelations” and I bought another book called “Evermore” by Alyson Noel ,my sister told me about it she said “it’s about vampires you’ll like it”. I hadn’t noticed that I’ve been reading a lot of vampire novels . I also went to one of my favorite places ever: Candylicious, even though taking pictures inside the store is not allowed, I ignored the multiple signs.
I just went Candylicious and KinoKuniya, I wish they had Virgin Mega Store. Anyway, I took the pictures with my phone, I can’t take my professional camera cause it’s big and heavy and my small one is 5 years old and broken, I’m thinking about buying a new one, maybe the small Sony still cameras in neon colors (I’ll buy a pink one ofcourse).
P.S. Wunderground says that we’re going to have a thunderstorm tonight and tomorrow, yay!!!
we had a thunderstorm yesterday. It was awesome. we finally got some rain and they say that it’s going to last until Wednesday but it’s sunny today and all the streets are wet. I never got to go to Dubai mall yesterday and couldn’t go today. I ofcourse got mad and said that I’m going to go no matter what. My parents wouldn’t let me, but what cheered me up is that I got a call to schedule the interview for grad school!!! It’s next Monday the 8th!!! I’m excited and terrified. I’ve never been interviewed before. I really hope I get accepted cause I’m dying here at home, doing nothing. I realized that after all these years of studying that I actually like it, who knew?
Also we’re going to Omrah next weekend inshalla for 5 days. We usually go in the summer but summer vacation this year is extremely short and it coincides with the beginning of Ramadan.
What also made me happy yesterday, aside from the rain, Hardee’s my favorite fast food restaurant finally decided to expand their delivery services to our neighborhood. Thank god, that solves all of my food problems. They delivered everywhere even to my sisters’ houses and they live like 2 minutes away, I was beginning to take it personally so I called them every few months and finally yesterday they said that they’ll deliver. I was so happy.
I’ve been hearing and reading everywhere yesterday about finding the Emirati student that went missing in California on Tuesday the 16th. They say that they found him in a hospital but from what I hear, he wasn’t physically injured. Then why is he at one of the hospitals where they looked for him a few days ago but wasn’t there? Yesterday I read the unofficial news about finding him on some local online forums where they said that he was interrogated by airport security which led to a nervous breakdown or something which put him in a hospital.
I thought there was something weird about his disappearance. First, why would he check in for his flight if he wasn’t going to board. Second, he went missing at an airport, where security is very tight so they probably have cameras everywhere. How can he go missing for 10 days without bothering to check the cameras for clues. But what’s weird is that they kept saying on the news that the embassy and the local police are looking for him, how did they not know where he was?
The official news about finding him came today. I read on the newspaper that he suffered the nervous breakdown from being homesick and not wanting to continue his education abroad. Come on, again, if that’s true then why did he book a flight back home, check in at the airport and take his luggage with him. So, to the local newspaper I read, if you’re not willing to tell the truth then don’t bother lying.
In other news, I called Kinokuniya @ Dubai mall yesterday and they said that the have “Masquerade” , the sequel to “Blue Bloods” and I’m going today to buy it.yay!!!
I finally finished reading Blue Bloods, I loved it but I really want to read the sequels. My cousin has all of them except for the second one, she couldn’t find it anywhere. I’ll look for it @ KinoKuniya cause I’m going to Dubai mall tomorrow and if I don’t find it I’ll order it from Amazon. In the meantime, I’m reading Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray. I also wanna read Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella I bought a few months ago but didn’t read it.
I’m currently organizing thousands of pictures I’ve taken over the past 5 years cause I’m planning on adding an album page to my blog soon.
Yes today is my 22nd birthday. of course I’m not celebrating, I never celebrated my birthday as a kid, why celebrate now when I’m old? I can’t see past my nose unless I’m wearing glasses, and my back hurts all the time. I sleep until at least 2 pm everyday cause I have nothing else to do except blog and see youtube videos. I really need to get a job. I still haven’t heard from grad school about the interview and I just called a local institute about an A+ plus course, they only have classes in the evening 3 times a week but I don’t have anyone to take me. I’ll call some other institutes after the weekend. I just got a call from Galleries Lafayette Dubai Mall, they have an exclusive event for Kenzo on March 1st and their inviting me. I’ll see if anyone can take me that’s sounds like fun and I really need Magnolia Bakery’s cupcakes from Dubai Mall.
